This is the maximum amount of electricity that an organisation states it will need at any one time. This is agreed with the supplier which uses the information to use establish how much electricity it will need to buy. Organisation that exceed their agreed capacity will face a penalty charge. This is the biological process that produces a gas from organic waste such as livestock manure, food processing waste, etc. The gas can be used by itself as a renewable fuel source or it can be used to generate electricity.
Annual Quantity (AQ)
The AQ is the assumed cumulative annual energy consumption from all the meters at a specific site. This can either be Kilowatts (electricity) or Therms (Gas). The National Grid calculates the AQ based on historical usage from previous years.

AMR is the term given to a system that provides automatic meter readings remotely. It uses telephone technology and holds the ability to transfer data into a billing system.
