The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme was introduced in 2010 and is designed to improve energy efficiency and cut carbon dioxide emissions in high energy use private and public sector organisations.
Your business is affected by CRC if you had at least one settled half hourly electricity meter (sHHM) - (most businesses of any scale have this) and used 6,000 megawatt hours (MWh) or more of qualifying electricity (supplied through settled half hourly meters) during the qualification year (2012-13).
If your business met these qualification criteria between April 2012 and March 2013, you should already be registered with the Environment Agency for the current phase of the Scheme.
If you fail to comply with the scheme, you face a fine.
esave's sustainability experts will make sure you stay on the right side of the regulations and maximise benefit from the scheme - either by providing full management and delivery of your organisation’s compliance requirements to ensure all regulatory deadlines are met, or by carrying out an audit of the CRC evidence folder compiled by the organisation and ensure you are ready for future regulatory audits.
