ISO 14001 is an international standard which provides organisations with the practical tools to manage their environmental responsibilities, help them manage their environmental footprint and reduce costs.
Any organisation, of any size can implement an ISO standard - it's not about size, scale or turnover and it can deliver a wide range of benefits for business.
Reasons for choosing to implement any ISO standard can vary:
To reduce environmental costs (i.e. waste disposal, water consumption, wastewater treatment, air emissions abatement and energy costs)
To improve a company's environmental credentials and generate positive PR
To assist with international benchmarking
esave can advise and guide your business through the process from management briefing, creating an action plan and providing oversight of progress towards certification, through full Gap Assessment to identify how far current practices are from the requirements of the standard. esave also provide support to fill these gaps e.g. creating an energy policy, devising and delivering training, establishing key measurement metrics and carrying out waste, water or energy audits to support delivery of the program.
Already have ISO14001 but not the new 2015 standard?
ISO 14001:2015 has a higher level of compatibility with other management system standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, making integration easier. There have been changes to the structure, key concepts and terminology of the standard, such as Context of the Organisation, Leadership, Strategic Environmental Management, Risk & Opportunities, Life-Cycle Perspective, etc. Organisations who have a previous version of the standard, have until 15 September 2018 to transition. esave can help you manage the transition, smoothly and cost effectively, to ensure you keep your ISO14001 certification beyond September 2018.
